BARS/K-SAA Monograph Publishing Roundtable and Q&A

Questions on any aspects of monograph publishing in Romantic studies can be submitted in advance or live—please email yours to matthew.sangster@glasgow.ac.uk and ksinger@mtholyoke.edu before September 18 to be pre-circulated among the expert panel. Register here.

Building on the interest in our roundtable on journal publishing at the BARS postgraduate conference this summer, the K-SAA will be co-sponsoring with BARS a digital roundtable on monograph publishing on 27 September, 2023 (Wed), 12:00-1:30 EDT / 17:00–18:30 BST. The panel comprises senior editors and publisher (listed below) who will share their insights on the process and address related questions about manuscript preparation and editing.

  • Rebecca Colesworthy, Senior Acquisitions Editor at SUNY Press

  • Ben Doyle, Publisher for Literary Studies at Bloomsbury (and formerly Emerald and Palgrave)

  • Tim Fulford, co-editor of the Liverpool University Press series Romantic Reconfigurations: Studies in Literature and Culture 1780-1850

  • Patricia A. Matthew, co-editor of Oxford University Press’s Race in Nineteenth-Century Literature and Culture series

  • Bethany Thomas, Commissioning Editor for Literature at Cambridge University Press.

The event will also feature new information about the K-SAA’s mentorship program, which will expand to cover group and individual monograph advising.

Please reserve your spot at this free event on this Evenbrite page, and share this with anyone who may be interested. The link to the roundtable will be sent closer to the date. This will be the first of BARS’s digital events this academic year.
