K-SAA Interviews: Giuseppe Albano, Keats-Shelley House, Rome
We’re thrilled to share our latest interview with Dr Giuseppe Albano, Curator and Director of the Keats-Shelley House in Rome, Italy.
Dr Albano received an MBE in 2019 for services to UK/Italy relations. He studied English literature at the University of Edinburgh, before undertaking postgraduate work at York and then Sidney Sussex College, University of Cambridge, where he wrote his doctoral thesis on Victorian pastoral poetry. He has previously worked in various arts institutions, including the British Museum, Wallace Collection and the Hawthornden International Writers’ Retreat, where he was librarian and archivist. He is now the Curator and Director of the Keats-Shelley House in Rome.
Dr Albano is interviewed by 2020-2021 Communications Fellow, Amy Wilcockson, and the Director of Communications, Anna Mercer. Thank you to Dr Albano for his time, insights into the museum, and also for being truthful when asked whether he preferred Keats or Shelley! (You’ll have to watch our interview to see who was chosen…). We look forward to visiting the Keats-Shelley House in Rome as soon as we can!
