An announcement via the Keats-Shelley House in Rome:THE KEATS-SHELLEY HOUSE WILL BE RE-OPENING ON TUESDAY, MAY 26 2020
The Keats-Shelley House will be reopening its doors to visitors from 10 a.m. on Tuesday 26 May. Our team has been working hard to get the museum ready and ensure that it accords with national and regional government guidelines to safeguard staff and visitors from Sars-Cov-2. We've also completed essential maintenance and restoration work, and sanitised the whole building. On re-opening and until further notice the Keats-Shelley House may accommodate a maximum number of ten visitors at a time. This restriction has been put in place in order to comply with national and regional guidelines on safeguarding staff and visitors against Sars-Cov-2 . We therefore invite visitors to book and purchase entrance tickets in advance. We also kindly request visitors to bring protective face masks and gloves with them to the House, and we advise that entrance may be refused if visitors have a high temperature or experience other symptoms of Covid-19. Visitors will receive a short introduction from one of our expert guides and have time to explore the museum and collections by themselves, seeing the House's recently restored eighteenth-century ceilings and portrait busts, as well as the collections of books, manuscripts, relics, and art works. There is also a temporary exhibition of drawings on display titled 'John Keats and Virginia Woolf: Hampstead and Rome'. The House's shop containing unique and bespoke merchandise inspired by the Romantic poets is open. Visitors may enter the giftshop one at a time, or, at most, two if they are together. We look forward to seeing you soon at the Keats-Shelley House.
