“Teaching with Commonplacing” Pedagogy Workshop

Are you interested in incorporating archival research with commonplace books in one of your literature or composition courses next fall? Would you like for your students to create commonplace books over the course of the semester? Do you have questions about grading student work or where to find high-resolution materials online?

Join us for a K-SAA pedagogy workshop on Friday, August 16 at 10 am PST / 1 pm EST and meet a community of teachers who will help answer these questions together. We will share assignments and digital resources to make it easier for you to plan your semester—whether you plan to use commonplacing as a course theme, lesson unit, or a single assignment! RSVP here and feel free to email Kacie Wills and Olivia Moy with questions or details about the classes you’re prepping—and especially if you have more teaching resources to share. No prior experience necessary. We invite participants to explore the first installment of the K-SJ+ special issue on commonplacing prior to attending the workshop.

Friday, August 16, 2024 at 10am-11:30am PST/1pm-2:30pm EST/6pm-7:30pm BST via Zoom. RSVP here.
