The Romantics continue to inspire contemporary artistic productions. Music lovers—including those who have enjoyed composer Gregg Kallor‘s Frankenstein opera last fall—may appreciate a new work in a completely different genre. Recently, a folk punk concept album inspired by John Keats’s life and work has been released by Tom Anderson, a punk folk singer-songwriter and fiction writer from Boston. The full genesis of the album can be read on the British Association of British Romanticism (BARS) blog—”Keats Euphoria: Punk Folk Album Inspired by Keats’s Life and Poems”—here. The track list, filled with Keatsian motifs, draws on and imagines literary history and connections alike:

  1. Here Lies One Whose Name Was Writ In Water

  2. Eve Of St. Agnes

  3. New Lamia

  4. Sweet Unrest

  5. Slow Time

  6. Isabella And The Pot Of Basil

  7. Mary Shelley

  8. Love Begone

  9. No Mercy

  10. Tender Night

  11. A Little More
